I subscribe to the app and now my subscription doesn't work. Previously, I've paid $4.99, however the new price is now $7.99. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app to no avail. At this point, I'm just throwing money away.

The Update made the UI horrible, it was supposed to be a short and concise news letter, one tap is all you needed to receive all relevant information, now it's a mess. The fact that it's a subscription service now makes it easier to hate.

Good, mostly unbiased news! Would always allow you one short article a day free, no more. All behind the paywall.

On Samsung tablets, no landscape option. In portrait configuration the text is shifted to the right, which blocks out about 10% of each line. Cell phone text is centered properly. No landscape. The user comments are not presented in chronological order so that five star comments, which describe an old, unavailable app, are seen first. The one or two star comments which are reasonably critical of the app "upgrade" in April, 2022 are scattered further down. No reason for the IT team to be proud.

Robert Miller

I hate the new version. My review of the old version in 2020 was a 5-star experience. I'm assuming that the high rating for this app is a relic and not related to the current version, which is useless.

The new update is horrible. Sad they changed everything. No more snappy news on a single page... Now I will have to search. for a new app that did the same thing. I think most people would drop 2-3€ for the world in brief section or just watch a couple of ads for it or pay a 10-15€ anual fee but not a whooping 13€ a month for articles I will definitely not read or use.

It really is The Best way to start the day to get up to speed on the news. Written in The Economist's habitual style. I really do miss the market numbers though.

can't rate it as there is no free options. Why not to say before install: SUBSCRIPTION ONLY or similar. Saves the time and disappointment for its lack of transparency.
